HISTORY

This pigeon fancier from the Netherlands has one of the best pigeon lines in the pigeon racing world.
With a breeding cadre of the best grand background pigeons of the Jan Aarden dynasty, this loft has specialized in master breeding and racing.
Marijn Van Geel created a loft with five eggs from Van Agtmaal pigeons, two of which were to be the parents of the famous "500". With four more pigeons he started to build what today is known as the best background colony in the world.
Marijn believed in his pigeons and sought their improvement through inbreeding. He was always reluctant to cross pigeons of foreign origin with those of his family, and this strategy began to pay dividends in a short period of time, positioning him as one of the best fanciers in Holland.
After Marijn's death in 1983, Martha Van Geel continued to run this powerful loft. Van Geel's pigeons began to be in demand all over the world, so much so that in 1989 Martha sold all her pigeons and racing birds in a record auction. Thus beginning a new era with young pigeons.
Martha dedicated herself to deliberate breeding and selection, participating in more races and always keeping an eye on the health of her pigeons. As a result, she won 55% of prizes in national races.
Today the genes of Van Geel pigeons guarantee the best performance in long distance racing.

Top awards:

1988 Martha van Geel won the 1st Bergerac of the heavy long distance race of the South West District Union.
2000 won the 12e National Barcelona in Martha van Geel's own loft.
