Hugo Batenburg, can without doubt be considered the best current breeder of pigeons of Jan Aarden origin in the Netherlands. The Batenburg-Van De Merwe family focuses on long distance racing all season long. His philosophy is that "top class pigeons are derived from first class pigeons".
Lineage Frank Zwiers
At the beginning of the year 2000, a young Frank became acquainted with pigeon racing. Through his grandfather, he got to know the sport and his interest in it grew. His main interest, at that time, was in speed and medium distance races (up to 700 kilometres). This interest changed in 2005 when he became interested in the marathon as a type of discipline.
